Together: A dynamic European project to help pregnant and breastfeeding women make healthier, informed lifestyle choices.

As a leader in designing and implementing research-action projects in health education, P.A.U. As a leader in designing and implementing research-action projects in health education, P.A.U. Education is operating “Together’ — a two-year pilot project by The European Commission (DG SANTE) to raise awareness of the importance of healthy diet and lifestyle among pregnant and breastfeeding women — especially those in disadvantaged communities.

P.A.U. Education is designing all educational materials and implementing dynamic participatory campaigns in five target cities: Prague, Manchester, Murcia, Deventer and the South Denmark Region.

Our daily work involves close collaboration with health and nutrition experts to conduct in-depth studies of existing research on diet, nutrition and physical exercise among pregnant and lactating women, and conducting focus groups with Local Promoting Groups in each key city. From there, we produce guidelines to help project implementers apply the project in each city in the most relevant, impactful ways, while taking into account the ethnic and cultural diversity of women in disadvantaged communities.

P.A.U. Education is also developing a visual identity, web platform and intensive social media campaign to accompany the project and increase its reach, scope and visibility.

Our extensive experience in large-scale health-education initiatives and, community-based interventions includes designing and implementing the Shape Up project, considered one of the key best practices to prevent child obesity through community-based interventions across Europe.

Since 2014, we have also operated We Love Eating! — the European Commission’s pilot project on healthy eating at all lifestages, from childhood to elderly age, currently being piloted in seven key European cities.
