Opening up internet policy-making processes to citizens everywhere

Just launched in April 2015, the Global Internet Policy Observatory (GIPO) will monitor Internet-related policy, regulatory and technological developments across the world, with the aim to help interested individuals to get involved in the process of internet policy-making.

Through the use of a dedicated GIPO tool, managed by P.A.U. Education and built through crowdsourcing to help the global community interested in Internet-related policy, it will be possible to navigate the complex world of internet governance more easily, and collect, analyse and share relevant information.

The European Commission (DG CONNECT) created GIPO to respond to the needs of all interested parties – ranging from civil society actors to SMEs, parliamentarians to entrepreneurs.  The tool will serve as a one-stop shop that organises relevant information into a single, credible and user-friendly source.

Stakeholders that already participate in the debate on Internet governance are welcome to join the Observatory, as well as newcomers from all areas of the global community.
